Windows 10 end of support help in Fountain Hills
Microsoft stopped regular support for Windows 10 in October 2025, but home users can keep getting security updates through October 12, 2027 by enrolling in Extended Security Updates. Eazy Tech Services comes to your home in Fountain Hills, North Scottsdale, Rio Verde or East Mesa, checks whether your computer can run Windows 11, and then upgrades it, enrolls it in security updates, or moves you to a new computer, whichever makes the most sense.
Problems we fix
- A message says Windows 10 has reached end of support
- Not sure whether your computer can run Windows 11
- Windows 11 upgrade failed or got stuck
- Want to keep Windows 10 safely for now
- Ready for a new computer and need everything moved over
Your three options
- Upgrade to Windows 11 (free). If your computer meets Microsoft's requirements (a newer processor and a TPM 2.0 security chip), this is usually the best choice. We back up your files first, run the upgrade, and check that your programs and printer still work.
- Stay on Windows 10 with security updates. Microsoft's consumer Extended Security Updates run through October 12, 2027. Enrollment is free if you back up your settings with a Microsoft account, or costs 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points or $30, and one enrollment covers up to 10 computers. We can enroll you and make sure updates install.
- Replace the computer. If it can't run Windows 11 and is getting old, a new computer may be the better value. We help you choose one and move everything over.
What happens after October 2027
After the extended updates end, Windows 10 will no longer get security fixes. It will keep working, but it becomes riskier to use for email, banking and shopping. Planning the move now avoids a rushed decision later.
Common questions
Is Windows 10 still safe to use?
Yes, if it is enrolled in Microsoft's Extended Security Updates, which run through October 12, 2027 for home users. Without enrollment it no longer receives security fixes.
How do I know if my computer can run Windows 11?
Microsoft's PC Health Check app tells you. It mainly depends on the processor and whether the computer has a TPM 2.0 security chip. We can check it for you at the visit.
How do I sign up for Windows 10 Extended Security Updates?
On the computer, go to Settings, Update and Security, Windows Update, and select Enroll now. You need a Microsoft account with administrator rights. It is free if you back up your settings, or 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points or $30.
Will I lose my files upgrading to Windows 11?
A normal upgrade keeps your files and programs, but we always make a backup first in case anything goes wrong.
